MEET GENERAL MANAGER TEVI MANDEL

Tevi Mandel is the General Manager of TOP Sports York Region, bringing a lifelong passion for sport, strong community roots, and a wealth of coaching and leadership experience to the role. A Toronto native with family roots in the Thornhill area, Tevi joined TOP Sports in 2022 as a Head Coach and quickly emerged as a trusted leader within the organization. His dedication to youth development, professionalism, and team-first mindset earned him a promotion to General Manager, where he now oversees all programming, staff, and development in the York Region.

A former competitive hockey player in the GTHL, Tevi has spent over a decade on the ice—as both a player and coach. His coaching experience spans several respected organizations, including CanPro Hockey, SDH Hockey, Camp Manitou, North Toronto Hockey Association, and TOP Hockey. Known for his ability to connect with kids, support their growth, and foster a positive team culture, Tevi also spent time at Right to Play in the People and Culture department, adding a unique perspective on athlete well-being and inclusive sport environments.

Tevi holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Political Science from Queen’s University, where he developed a strong foundation in leadership, communication, and organizational strategy—skills that have translated seamlessly into his role in youth sports.
